Rosepaw watched Bramblepaw take off towards Starbucks. For some reason, Willowpaw and Flowertail were really upset. "Hey, Bramblepaw!" She called, and took off after him. Maybe there was something really good inside. By the time she got there though, he was typing away on a twoleg thing.

Pearlclaw bounded happily off the train and looked about cheerfully. "Ohmigawd, a Starbucks!" she crowed, and followed Barmbleclaw and company into the heavenly-smelling place. "I -love- coffee." she sighed happily, and looked about. Bramblepaw was already sipping at a caramel frappuchino, and since Pearlclaw didn't actually have any money, the only possible course of action was to steal it.
She crept over to where he was busy tapping away at a laptop- What -was- he doing?- before launching herself towards the sweet deliciousness. "Coffeee!" she cried.
Some little part of her, currently buried deep by her mall-crawling, coffee-addicted self, hoped that Willowpaw had noticed the stalking technique that she had used to approach Brambleclaw.
Lightfur staggered rather than stepped jauntily from the subway train, and probably would have collapsed, except that it wouldn't do for the deputy to collapse in such a situation. "Galazzyfur!" she exclaimed muzzily, noting the medicine cat. "M'glad to see y'made it…" The golden deputy was tinged slightly green as she attempted to transition to solid ground once more. She traipsed over to where he stood with Starlight and patted him on the shoulder with her tail. "M'glad…"
She was a bit out of it.
Dawnkit leapt onto the platform with a squeal of joy. She bounced over to her Daddy, who was helping Fallentree. "Daddy Daddy, I rode on the scrubway!" she cried excitedly, and grinned happily up at the two older cats. "Hallo Fallentree, did you like the scrubway too? Except Lightfur didn't let me see hardly anything." She pouted for a moment, but not for long. The little ball of golden fuzz hopped from foot to foot as she waited for Daddy and Fallentree to acknowledge her.

Both cats smiled down at the little kit that seemed to bounce with no end. Fallentree nodded to her and sat down a good distance from the metal snake. He replied to her, "They get worse with age little one. I am glad you liked the journey."
Sleetfoot let the older cat sit before butting heads lightly with his kit. There was a glint of humour in his eye as he wrapped a paw around her and picked her up high off the ground. "There was nothing to see anyway, my dear, only the blur of a fast moving wall." He set the kit back down, pretending not to notice that he dropped her on her head.
Coldkit had been strutting around on the subway, proving to the other cats that she wasn't afraid. She had gotten off just before her father. Now, she walked perpusfully up to her sister. "Hellow Dawnkit" She bowed her head to her sister.

"Lightfur," Starlight ordered, her usual self again. "Lay down and put your head between your paws before you hurt yourself. Mouse-brained twolegs, how am I supposed find herbs with all of this hard, stone stuff everywhere?" She glanced in every direction, then gave up with a shake of her head and an irritated twitch of her tail. "Just be still for a while, then."

Bramblepaw's eyes got wide and he grabbed Pearlclaw by the tail, even though there was no possible way he could have dragged her. He shut the laptop since he was done with his blog, and bounced off of the larger warrior's back to curl a paw around his coffee. "Hands off the frap," He said with a glare and a little sip from it.

Falcontail slapped himself in the head with a paw. It was barely two minutes since they'd emerged from the subway, and here he was, partially in-charge of the mission, and failing miserably. Taking a deep breath and fluffing out his chest fur, the ginger tabby made ready to frighten some Twolegs. "All cats remaining, please listen!" he bellowed, watching out the corner of his eye as a few Twolegs looked about, clueless. "Sleetfoot, I think it's best you head off with the apprentices already in Starbucks. Just stay away from the coffee (all flavours are dangerous to your sanity), and you'll do fine. Stonepelt, take the remaining apprentices and a few warriors to back you up, a-" "What about me?" Wildstar pouted, her eyes flashing. Falcontail swiped a paw across his whiskers, stalling for time. "Erm, yes, I was getting to that. Wildstar, you should probably head off with Sleetfoot, it'll take both of you to keep Pearlclaw and the apprentices from certain death." "And which part of the list shall we tackle?" "The books, Wildstar," Falcontail replied, his voice edgy and patronizing. Sometimes his leader could be such a kit. "After all, there's probably a bookstore in the back of that cafe." "Fine by me," Wildstar nodded, and, handing over the remaining cash to the young warrior, she bounded to the cafe, holding the bills like a piece of fresh-kill.

Pearlclaw snickered at Bramblepaw and lunged for the chilled coffee drink. "I don't even have hands, mousebrain! Now h- Now give it over!" She let out a relieved sigh. Near miss there! That would have been really stupid!
She was distracted as Wildstar zipped through the door, and the Pearlclaw was all of a sudden looking like the model young warrior. "Now, Bramblepaw." She coughed. "Give me that Twoleg drink so that I can… dispose of it properly, and go and assist your leader like a good apprentice." She eyes the frappuchino longingly. Soon the sweet, iced deliciousness would be hers! All hers! Ahahahaha!
Lightfur nodded at Starlight's words, and the movement nearly caused her to topple over. "M'kay, Sarrlight." She flopped down and buried her muzzle between her paws. "Oh, m' StarClan. Twolegs 'r insane, all of 'em. Sssark… ravin'… mad. 'R you feelin' okay, Galazzyfur? Muss've been more'v a hassle on d' ousside of d'… sub-thin'." She groaned at Flacontail's words and attempted to rise to her feet. "I go'a go. Gotta go. 'M the deputy-" The green tinge intensified and she winced, managing to take one staggering step and then actually remain upright for about three seconds. "Stoopid sub-thin'." she muttered, slightly cross-eyed, and tried again.
Dawnkit was a little dazed from her bump, but she shook it off and grinned at Coldkit. "Hi! Coldkit, you gotta tell me everything you saw! The only interesting thing that I saw was Lightfur and some Twoleg legs. Lightfur turned kind of green, like when you leave fresh-kill out in the sun for too long, though, and it was neat!" The goldenrod-colored kit seemed extremely thrilled by that fact.
As various cats peeled off from the group, Dawnkit glanced up at her father. "Daddy, are me and Coldkit coming with you? We can, right?" She suddenly sounded a little worried and a little insecure, and looked around quickly. "Where'd Mommy go? And Rainkit?"

Rosepaw pranced up to the -now unguarded- laptop. She opened it up and read Bramblepaw's blog. "Omigosh, Bramblepaw, that is so COOL! How do I make one?" Bramble didn't seem to notice. He was defending his precious cup of coffee.

Wildstar bounded kittishly over to the apprentices. Without all the responsibilities she was usually weighed down with, the leader of MountainClan was as high as a kite. "Leave some of that whatever-it's-called for your leader, young ones!" she yelled around the wad of bills in her mouth. While she was here she'd probably have to buy something to carry the money and books in if she wanted to get everything back on the subway.
Falcontail trotted over to MountainClan's deputy, who seemed the worst for wear. He could sympathize with her, but there was work to be done. "Starlight, see if you can find some Gravol for Lightfur. It's the fastest solution we have on this time-limit. There's a medical supply store right over there," he indicated across the corridor with his tail. "I'll stay with her in case she gets worse." Removing another amount of bills from a coin purse about his neck (something obtained in previous trips to the mall), he handed them over to the medicine cat.

Starlight gingerly took the green-tinted paper, going through Galaxyfur's lessons on money in her head (he was always thrusting his twoleg-adoration upon poor Starlight). Surely she could manage? And Gravol--that had to start with a 'G'. With a nod to the cats (she couldn't talk around the money), she dashed off to the medical store Falcontail had mentioned.
Her first glance at the strange "plastic containers" was not promising. How could there be any herbs in that? But she trusted Falcontail's twoleg knowledge. She trotted down the isles, ignoring surprised twolegs as she examined all the labels begining with 'G'. Most of them were "Gas Relief" medications. After several isles, she discovered at last what she was looking for: Gravol. Victorious, she reached to snag it with one paw and pushed it to the line of twolegs called the "check-out line" (she still had the bills occupying her mouth).

Sleetfoot nodded to the tom before turning. He was about to head over to this 'star bucks' place when he nearly tripped over Dawnkit. Falcontail hadn't given them a place to go. He nodded. "You may, but keep close and do what I say. And oh...I awould assume Bluesky and Rainkit have already taken off on their part of the search."
He started forard, checking to make sure his kits wheren't rushing around his feet before going at a run. He entered the store and nearly fell over due to the incredible stench of the place. "Great StarClan That is disgusting!" He yoweled. A two-leg looked at the screaming cat with fear before running out. She dropped the drink that had been in her paw. Coldkit crept forward to sniff it but Sleetfoot lunged at her. "NO! You heard what Falcontail said. Do not drink it." He turned to the other cats and dipped his head to Wildstar. "I don't know if she's told you but Bramblepaw, Rosepaw and Pearclaw are with us." He glanced at his leader, not sure which one was actually in charge here.
Fallentree nodded to the last few cats before pulling himself over to a quiet shadowy corner. He was to watch over any items that where brought back to him until it was time for the cats to return. Well...He could just take a little nap while he waited...

Completely unfazed by his first subway ride, Ashpelt ran to catch up with everyone, only to skid to a halt at the entrance of the store. It was Starbucks, the forbidden fruit (one of those really cool-sounding twoleg phrases that meant is was something he couldn't have but really wanted). He stood before the glass door, looking inside in a trance of awe. It was more beautiful than his wildest dreams. He had heard about the wonders of coffee. The so-called "caffeine" was bound to make any cat energetic and hyper. Ashpelt knew he was already both of these things; he wondered what this caffeine would do to him. Slowly (for him, at least), Ashpelt pawed his way into the Starbucks. He opened his mouth to taste the air. It was . . . had he died and gone to StarClan?
When her turn in line came, Starlight jumped up onto the counter to put down the money, then jumped down again to retrieve the medicine. By the time she had climbed up again, every twoleg within five fox-lengths was staring at her. The one behind the counter seemed to be unsure what to do. As Starlight flicked her tail impatiently, he shrugged and scanned the item. He took the bills and pushed the medicine back at the cat. Nodding her thanks, Starlight grabbed the plastic container and made her way back to Lightfur and Falcontail.
"Alright, I have the medicine. Now how does it work?" She peered doubtfully down at the Gravol.

Pearlclaw had heaved a sigh of relief when Wildstar appeared uninterested in busting her over her attempt to steal Brambleclaw's delicious, wonderful, fragrant drink, but snapped guiltily to attention as Sleetfoot approached, with two of his kits. "Um, yes. Okay. What part of the list are we covering?" The black-and-white warrior glanced over at her apprentice. "And where's Willowpaw going?"
Out of the corner of her mouth she hissed at Brambleclaw, "Set a good example for these kits and hand over the coffee like a good apprentice. Now."
Dawnkit sniffed. "Ohh, it smells good! Like cream and things. Why can't we drink it?"
Lightfur blinked up at Starlight, having given up on her attempts to stand. "That doesn' look like herbs t'me." she mumbled suspiciously. "What 'n StarClan's name is it?"

"I think....it's a bunch of herbs that have been pressed together and dried into a convenient pebble-sized tablet. Right, Galaxyfur?" Had Galaxyfur's twoleg lessons been worth something after all? Starlight wondered momentarily.
Ashpelt finally noticed the commotion the cats were making inside the store. Nope, this wasn't StarClan; if it was, there would be a way to sneak a few laps of someone's drink.

Wildstar wandered aimlessly through the bookstore, the shelves towering over her, and the confused glances of Twolegs distracting the she-cat from her mission. Twitching her whiskers with distaste, she headed over to a large box with a smaller box sitting in front of it. Images and words played across the box, seemingly manipulated by the smaller box and a small creature that looked like a mouse. "Pinestar help me out here," she whispered under her breath. A single leap landed her in front of the box, where the words and pictures came into focus. Although the MountainClan leader couldn't really understand Twoleg technology, in the end, she decided that continuity didn't matter, meaning she could read and use a computer like nocat's business. A few minutes of scrolling and flashy advertisements found her at the page marked "Stephenie Mayer" and a picture with two Twoleg paws holding a red... something? The category said teen fiction, so the she-cat popped off to said location. But as soon as she got there, she knew it would be trouble. Although the entire shelf was filled with copies of the same book, it would be impossible to carry it around the store with the money in her mouth, and she certainly couldn't leave it here. "Need any help?" a familiar voice called from the top of the shelf. Wildstar's mouth dropped open in surprise, along with the bills she was carrying. "You shouldn't carry around money like that, you'll damage it," the ginger tom chided, hopping down to her level. "By the way, what are you looking for?" "Guh.... wha....?" "Pardon me? I'm afraid I don't understand you." Wildstar shook her head, but the tom was still there. "Eagleheart, what are you doing here?" Eagleheart's ears twisted forward, and his aqua eyes grew wide with shock. "Well I'll be a Twoleg's queen, Wildeyes is it?" "Wildstar, as it has been for many moons." The tom licked her nose affectionately. "Forgive me, your Highness." "Well, you can redeem yourself by taking two copies of Twilight to the check-out counter," she mumbled as she picked up the bills scattered between them. Ooc: Finally, I've found a good place for Eagleheart to appear! KYAH! I still don't know if I want to seriously roleplay him, but for now I'll try to develop his character on this thread, to get used to his mild-mannered sarcasm.
