Starlight spared only a short glance for the kit at her feet; she was too enraptured by the unfolding events. Her mind spun when she tried to take it all in. She still didn't like Regalpaw's proposal, though that was more of a personal bias than a true evaluation of the idea. And both of Ashpelt's remarks were sound. If, or when, the battle broke, the clan would need a plan of survival in the worst-case scenario, and she would need someone to ease the burden of tending to the injured. Not to mention the prophecy. Should she fail, someone must be prepared to take her place.
This last thought caused her eyes to flicker subconsciously to the bundle of fur at her feet. But her thoughts were racing too fast to realize what she already knew inside.
As her list of things to ask StarClan grew, Starlight became more and more despondent. Could she make no move herself, without first seeking guidance in the stars? She was not, she thought rebelliously, some kit or apprentice who took orders and required permission to act. Then the medicine cat bent her head, ashamed. It was not the same thing, and she knew it. Besides, a cat will always be but an apprentice to her ancestors, until she ascends to their ranks and gains their wisdom.
Meanwhile, Ashpelt listened gravely to Sleetfoot's pronouncement, gesturing his forgiveness when he caught the tom's abashed expression. He had already finished, and the white warrior's suggestion was an important one, well worth any interruption, he thought.
Springflower, on the other hand, was about to titter he disapproval when Fallentree nudged her. The she-cat gave her old friend an impish look and whispered, "You know me too well, dear Fallentree."
((Sorry for the power-play, Sleety. I couldn't help myself.)) ((Also: No, Springflower, you're just that predictable. ^_^ ))

Regalpaw spared a glance for the tiny white kit he had come to look after (since the poor thing had no parents). With a soft smile, one most cats did not see, he looked back to Sleetfoot and his proposal. Realizing that, as an apprentice, he had no right to be speaking in such an important circle but he had to step forward and put his thoughts in.
"I agree with Sleetfoot. I'm not sure how far his home lands are but I think it's worth a chance there to at least talk with them. The New Ones don't really know of us yet so slipping out will be easy. The only problem I do have, Sleetfoot" he turned tot he white warrior "is that you've always told us all of your old Clan is dead or separated."
=====================================
Moonkit glared furiously up at Starlight. She had payed him only a seconds glance when he was the answer to the previous proposal! Frustrated, the small kit stood up, his butt much higher in the air then normal (for the mad effect) and stormed off toward his play corner. If Starlight wanted to talk, she wuld come find him.

Sleetfoot was glad that his proposal seemed to be well liked. The next problem would be picking cats to go with him. A part of him felt as though Starlight should accompany him to talk with the other medics but he couldn't leave Mountain clan with no herbal protection. This is when a medicine cat apprentice would have been useful. He looked around at the other cats gathered in the camp. The elders should go- Sleetfoot started to think but froze when he caught the deathly glare of Springflower. He quickly changed his mind. The elders should stay here to help... As if she could read his mind, her expression became nice (or at least as nice as it could be ) again. If Sleetfoot could have his way, he would take Bramblepaw, Pearlclaw, Falcontail and -if she would go- Starlight. ((Sorry for the PP, Starry I just had to ))

Hawkkit sat in the back of the crowd away from the other kits. She knew very little about these "Big Cats" and was terribly confused. She just sat there with a puzzled look on her face until a small leaf floated by. As the leaf blew just above her head, she leapt up and caught it between her paws, throwing it to the ground. As soon as it hit the ground, she began pouncing on it, having a grand old time, her confusion forgotten.

Wildstar glanced at StarClan before speaking. This council had become what she had expected, but it still left an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach, like the time so many moons ago when she had turned down Eagleheart to pursue her position of leadership. It felt just as confusing and unnecessary, but there was still that rational part of her brain that calmly informed the she-cat that StarClan was watching and would intervene if this was not meant to occur. She twitched her whiskers unhappily. "A patrol would be the perfect way to gain information, but I must admit that I fear for you and your decisions. This is not a light matter you press upon us, then again, neither s war. Any that do not wish to participate will not be looked down upon, as just as many paws will be needed to look after the kits and elders. I ask Ashpelt to choose his crew without my interference, for I believe that StarClan will guide his decision and help him choose the right cats for the job. "On another note, I would like to announce here and now that I love every one of you. You are my friends and my family: my parents, my kin, and my kits; and if cause permits, I will lay down all of my lives for you. I ask that StarClan bless us and this council as we continue. I would ask that a patrol be set up quickly to search for food and that we have a brief pause to allow for rest and further reflection. I will call this meeting again at sunhigh. May StarClan preserve us until then."
Falcontail watched Hawkkit with mild disdain before slamming his paw down on the leaf she'd been playing with. War was no time for kits to be larking about--if anything they should have been forced to listen by their parents. Foolish kits. StarClan forbid he ever have his own. Falcontail looked up in frustration when his almost-sister-in-law adjured the meeting. It had barely started and here she was already telling them to cool off. Still, she knew best, and was probably expecting recruits to be consulted in private to make sure that no cat's tails were twisted. But still! 'I have a bad feeling I'll have to look after this kit in the next meeting. I'll be lucky if someone calls me out to patrol.' For some reason, Hawkkit insisted on spending as much as possible with him, and truth be told, it really disturbed the orange tabby, but he could never get it through her head that he wanted some peace. Might as well use it to his advantage this time. "I'd really appreciate it if you'd pay attention in the next meeting, Hawkkit," he whispered in his most charming voice. "You can even sit next to me."

Sleetfoot sighd withr elief when Wildstar spoke up and ended the meeting. He needed some time to thinka lone on what everycat had said. Nonetheless, he wanted to heklp in any way possible. He approached Ashpelt. He dipped his head respectfully and spoke:
"If you need my assistance, I am here."

"Really?" Hawkkit asked excitedly. "You'd let me sit by you? I'll pay better attention than any cat!" she exclaimed excitedly. She pushed the leaf away. 'No more stupid leaves. Those are for kits,' she thought. She would need to act more mature from now on if she wanted to impress Falcontail. "Leaves are boring anyways..." she muttered.

Ooc: Hawkkit, your response was better than I could've hoped. xD Your character always leaves me laughing (and drives Falcontail crazy).
Bic: The orange tabby held back a snort and instead lashed his tail. If he was going to keep Hawkkit quiet, she'd have to think he wa's sincere. "I'll hold you to that, Hawkkit." He turned to go find Sleetfoot. "Anyways, I'm gonna go see if they need me for a hunting patrol, so you just stay right here until I get back." 'However long I end up taking,' Falcontail smirked.

Ooc: Thank you! I try!
BIC: Hawkkit watched as Falcontail walked off. "Okay!" she called. "I'll wait right here!" She sat there, patiently waiting for quite some time for him to return. She watched her other clan members going about their business around her. After she had been there for a few hours, she began to grow impatient. She began to knead the ground with her paws, turning her head side to side, looking for any signs of Falcontail's return. She wanted more than anything to play with the other kits. Eventually, she sighed and laid down right in that spot. Before she knew it, she was out cold, snoring softly.
