A young, orange she-cat stalked through the forest. Dark gray stripes shone in the light. Her ocean-colored eyes glinted in the sun as she observed a vole wriggling through the moist undergrowth. She saw it's dark body and crouched low to the ground, stealthily creeping towards it. Once it realized she was there, it jolted away- but she was to fast. Naturesong was just to fast. Without leaving her spot she pinned it down and gave it a quick bite. Though she normally would've eaten it, she was not hungry, and she know that when she arrived there would be food on the pile. Still she had insisted on hunting despite their excellent conditions. Who knew how old that mouse at the bottom of the pile was? Someone could die if it truly had been there as long as she could remember.
Quickly she trotted back to the area where she caught a thrush and uncovered it. Why did the hardest catches have to be so scrawny and feathery? 'Oh well...' she thought, her muscles relaxing. A small smile began to creep across her face as she realized how much energy she'd have the next day. Soon she was back at camp. The pile was much bigger then she expected. After dropping the kill off at the pile, she padded over to a small group forming in the middle of the clearing. At first she simply listened, trying to get a sense of what was going on, but soon she realized it wouldn't be easy to tell.
"Hello, friends!" she meowed, smiling. "What's going on? Is there a gang of foxes? If so, don't worry, I've dealed with them," she joked. This was her in the face of the clan, playful and comedic, while in the forest she was utterly serious.

"Nope!", Bluesky replied happily. "And hi, Naturesong. We're discussing plans for Thanksgiving!"She bounced a couple steps toward Naturesong, still feeling she had a bit too much energy. "I want to decorate the camp with plants and herbs and flowers! Willowkit wants to help, and Lightfur says it's okay!" Then she paused as she had another idea. "Naturesong, do you want to go out and collect plants with me? We should get ferns, bracken, and what else...?" She paused again. "But we'll have to be careful about the amounts we take from clumps of growth, we don't want to pick the mountain bare!" She continued jabbering on about the fragrant plants, herbs, and flowers they would need, where they would put them, and where they could get them.

Naturesong felt her head grow heavy at the amounts of information Bluesky was drilling into her head. "Calm down!" She mewed. "Of course I'll help! I love collecting herbs." Her mind racing, she quickly thought about the amount of herbs they already had. "It would be good for our stock of herbs too, because as far as I know, we're running low on them. Lavender would be good and calming, we could put that in the nursery." She thought automatically. "I know an excellent spot for catnip, which we can put in multiple places, there's so much, and we can put cobwebs in the elders den- as a joke, of course." Giggling, she nudged Willowkit and Bluesky. Well, c'mon! before it gets dark!"

Lightfur was glad to see everyone in such high spirits. "Hold on!" she laughed at Naturesong. "First of all, remember Willowkit can't go out of camp, she'll have to help with the decorating, not fetching. Also, I think that we should leave the catmint to grow, it's probably not a good idea to pick such a valuable herb when it's not needed. After all, leafbare is coming, and that's when we'd need it most. Perhaps you'd like to show Leopardmask the spot, though, since you know where you can get it? I'm sure she'd be grateful to replenish her stock. Also, no red berries, which you probably understand, but I don't want a deathberry getting into camp by mistake." The deputy shuddered. "Also, marigolds might brighten the place up. I suggest, though, that with lavender and marigold, and chervil if you come up with any, as well as anything you aren't sure about, check with Leopardmask after the feast and see if she can use it before you get rid of the stuff. All right?"

Naturesong nodded fiercely at the deputy "Right. Yes. On it. Good thinking." After shaking her head, she continued, "Oh, Leopardmask showed me the place. I'm pretty sure she uses it often. Well, anyways, c'mon Bluesky!"

ooc: *sneaks in Willowkit's mom and brother*
bic: Willowkit nodded rapidly at Lightfur, indicating that she understood the camp boundaries and would not go past them. She laid down, tucking her little paws under her body, and began to absentmindedly gnaw on the grass. Her eager thoughts floated around in her head like fluffy clouds on a sunny day.
A soft voice called her name, waking her from her daydreams. She looked towards the nursery, the source of the sound. Her mother, Flowertail, stood in the entrance. She was a brown tabby, unlike Willowkit, but had her same warm gray eyes. "Willowkit!" she called again, "Bramblekit wants to practice with you."
Willowkit trotted towards the nursery with a smile. Her brother, Bramblekit, was always trying to get her to train with him to become apprentices. He was very good in her view, but that didn't stop him from practicing.
Flowertail used her paw to motion another kit out of the nursery; Bramblekit was also a brown tabby, but with amber eyes that seemed to have the fierce glow of a warrior. He smiled at his mother, for he knew well that she didn't like them playing in the nursery.
"Come on!" He said, trotting over to Willowkit until she was a tail-length away. He crouched down, as if to spring, but his claws were sheathed. He bounded towards his sister, but she hopped out of the way at the last second. Willowkit and Bramblekit were attack and defense, brains and brawn, and they would work well together when they became apprentices, and even warriors.

Naturesong looked over at the playful kits. "Oh, to be young again..." she murdered. The two kits were so at peace together, and Naturesong wished she could play with them, but was afraid that she might squash one of their frail bodies. After staring at them for a while, she realized that the sun was beginning to sink into the horizon- the Thanks Giving gathering would be soon. "Bluesky!" she ordered. "We have to go!"

The MountainClan camp entance brambles shuffled as a pure white tom stepped into the camp. His jaw was full to the max as he walked over to the cats preparing the freshkill pile. Sleetfoot had been out all day, since before the Sun was spit out from the Sun-Drown-Place. He was tired, but he refused to stop. As long as there was some energy in him, he would do what he loved best-Hunt for his Clan. Expecially for this wonderful feast!
What was he looking forward to most? Fish! He had had it only once before and it was one of the best things he'd ever tasted. He dropped his four mice and a blue jay on th pile and turned around to leave-for more hunting, of course.

Bramblekit struggled up from the ground, pawing the grass off his head. He looked slightly annoyedly at his sister, but she only smiled warmly. He cocked his little brown head at her, soon looking away to the white tom that was beginning to leave the camp. He trotted over, hoping to catch to warrior for some chat before he left.
"Hey Sleetfoot!" He said, "Whatcha doin?" and sat down in front of the cat, a broad smile on his face.
Willowkit gave a mrrow of laughter, then walked around the camp until she found a spot she liked, then rolled around on the grass.

"Right!" Bluesky bounded to the medicine cat den and popped in. "Hey, Leopardmask! We want to know which herbs we can use to decorate the camp!" She paused. "Oh, and Naturesong knows a good place for catmint! Oh, be right back!" She raced out and paused, then leaped over to Willowkit. "Willowkit! You can start by weaving the branches of the warriors den together, and use some ferns while we get the herbs. Then she spun around and hurried back to the medicine cat den. "Okay, I'm back." Her eyes gleamed as she waited.

Willowkit's uncontrollable exitement leaped out again. Her gray eyes sparkled fpr a moment, then she trotted into the warrior's den, pawing at the branches that would be best for weaving together. She found a willow branch, one of the only ones in the warrior's den, and decided to save it for the nursery, where she would sleep. ooc: A little brainblock... Thanks to Wildstar for my icon muchly.

Sleetfoot stopped and turned to the small kit. Soon he would six moons old and be ready for his apprenticeship. To Sleetfoot, this was odd. He had begun his training at four moons and to him, this young cat was past ready to be given his new name. But who was he to question his new Clan's methods? He dipped his head. "Hello there SmallOne. Are you having fun preparing for this feast?"

At Sleetfoot's question, Bramblekit suddenly became ashamed. If the warrior were in his position, he would have gone to help his sister. "Yeah," he said, his ears flattening slightly, "...I'm having loads of fun." He smiled and went along the borders of the camp to search for pretty branches. So unlike him, he thought. Willowkit was prodding her mother's flank, asking her to help her with weaving. She was having trouble weaving the stiff branches whith her clumsy paws and dry leaves continuously landing on her nose.

"Thats good. Thres no point making a fest if everycat isn't having fun." He watched as the small kit started collecting sticks. He smilled to himself. he looked so unhappy collecting branches. So unhappy, in fact that Sleetfoot decided to do something that may get him in trouble. But it was feasting time, and they needed all the help they could get.
He trotted up to the small cat and bent down to whisper in his ear. "Bramblekit...Would you like to go hunting with me?"
