It sounds great! I have a few suggestions though. Since it's rather difficult for me to explain them with words, I'll record my suggestions, then post it here.
One suggestion I can describe though: I suggest when Hawkstar sings: "this clan in full" I suggest a massive pause between clan and in, and then have her hold out full on a semi-high note, like maybe an e (like one octave above the e by middle c). I don't know exactly what note.... It will be explained when I record my suggestion.

Ok, you guys will be able to do pretty much anything with them to match the octaves and notes y'all want. All I really care about are that the rhythms and words are pretty much there and that it sounds good XD Also, I have never had any formal training in singing whatsoever so I pretty much just...sing it and don't worry about note pitches XD That and I'm doing this from my dorm were I, coincidentally, have no piano  |

Thread revival LIKE A BOSS. Sleeeeeeety.... why did you make Willowkit a mezzo-soprano?  WHY BECAUSE It conflicts with how I wrote her in The Prayer! Which brings me to... The Prayer (Oh StarClan) YES I FINALLY RECORDED IT However, my whole family's sleep schedule is horribly mangled and I had to wait until I was awake and none of them were. So the only time I could get a good recording session in was at 4:30 in the morning, when my voice was all hoarse and nasty and somehow water just made it worse and gaaaah. So near the end of the clip you can hear me slowly dying. Also some parts are so off-key that it is cringe-worthy. Apologies. ): Some things should be noted! 1. I intended to write Galaxyfur as a tenor, though that can be changed, and I don't even know about Willowkit... I just sung the whole thing in a range I could hit. 2. Pretty much all of the places where more than one person is singing are supposed to be in harmony (except for the last "Oh StarClan"s, which Willow and Glazy sing in unison and the Clan echoes), but I didn't record them that way! Partly because there was no way I could get them to sync up and mostly because I can't write harmonies! 3. I had a lot of trouble with the timing on Galaxyfur's "you've gone too far" bit... I ended up recording the whole track in one sitting, so I couldn't do what I wanted to do... I wanted Glazy to hold it out over the misc. solos, either the note I actually sung or one octave above it, depending on the singer. So that is what I pretty much spent three days straight writing and like two weeks or something procrastinating on recording! The first thing I ever composed ever! Criticism is appreciated.  As for the opener, I've been trying to find out how to accompany it, but I pretty much ended up writing the accompaniment for this song on a whim, and I don't know if I could do it with pre-established vocals. (read: When I sat down at the keyboard, all that came out was stuff I wanted to use for the training montage) EDIT: Hey I thought I should give you guys the download link for AMS flyx.org/projects/amsIt's what I used to make the accompaniment. It is nowhere near as intuitive as a piano (you have to change the tempo to get anything shorter than a quarter note; to get an eighth note you'd have to double the tempo of the whole song), and the files can't be put directly into a sound program (I had to crank the volume on my speakers as well as manually increase the volume of every single note one at a time, and just let the microphone record it), but once you get past that it's a serviceable alternative for an expensive synthesizer. For a paper tech, anyway... I certainly wouldn't use this in the final recording! |
