I found it on Netflix for instant streaming, and I was like, "Oh, hm. I'm kind of bored and this looks interesting. I like children's animated films, and this plot sounds neat."

AND THEN THIS MOVIE JUST BLEW MY MIND.

It's beautiful, it has a compelling plot, it has a connection to real history, it's beautiful, it's enthralling, it's lovely, it's haunting, it's enchanting, it's whimsical, it's beautiful, it's interesting, it's a little sinister, it's thought-provoking, it's beautiful, it's magical, it's incredible, it's creative, it's extravagant, it's beautiful!

I am freaking out, you guys. This is seriously the best movie that I have ever seen ever anywhere in my entire life. I AM FREAKING OUT OVER HOW AWESOME THIS MOVIE IS. I don't know if it's just me but it's all-around glorious! I mean, I don't think it's just me because it was nominated for an Academy Award, and should have won! I mean, okay, Up is nice. But I didn't see Up and then go, "This is the best movie ever, I have to share it with EVERYONE." I went, "Oh, how cute." So I don't quite understand how Up beat out The Secret of Kells.

ANYWAYS, I don't know if you guys would like it as much as I do, but even if you liked it HALF as much, it's still worth buying, renting, streaming off of Netflix, anything to watch this incredible film! I am going to be purchasing it on DVD asap, I already have the soundtrack- literally the first thing I did after the movie was to go see if there was a soundtrack and then buy it.

Anyways. It's just… Argh. I don't even have the adjectives. It's a work of art. And it's just heart-achingly beautiful. What a masterpiece.

If it was 2D animation, it's too obvious why "Up" won. : \ (Even though I love 2D, the movie industry doesn't seem to anymore, unless it's Hayao Miyazaki.)

…Aaaand this is why I shouldn't post while sleep-deprived. While this thread is totally accurate and this is an epic movie, this is kind of embarrassing it read. >. >

And Wildstar, I think that people should definitely appreciate 2D more, as well as hand animation! A lot of it is much more artistic than the computer animation that's sooo popular these days. Hayao Miyazaki and things like The Secret of Kells prove that. Although I love a lot of 3D animation, 2D is oftentimes just as good or better.

I must agree. 2d Hand drawn tops 3d computer animation any day in my book! (Which is why I'm so uber-excited to see Winnie the Pooh on the 15th!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
