Towards a New Beginning [FC-PLOT]

[Starlight]

OoC: Okay! Timeskip, go!

Northsky stirred and blinked groggily, yawning hugely. It had been a few hours now, he observed by the look of the sky, and probably they would get going soon. It seemed that other cats were waking up too, and so he leaned over and nosed a his mother, causing her to start out of the light sleep she had drifted off into. Sandflower had been up longer than most of the other cats watching over Polarbear and standing sentry in case of attack, but she was up in an instant, relaxing once she saw that it was only Northsky who had woken her. "Time to get going, hm?" she asked her odd-eyed son, who nodded slightly. She glanced over at her big white son, who seemed to be in less pain since Boneclaw had treated him. Still, he needed his rest, and she would wait to wake him until he either woke on his own or until the last possible moment.

[Nightpaw]

Flightkit lifted his head. He had been able to get back to sleep after a bit of play with Breezkit. He looked around as some of the other cats began to wake. "Mommy, Daddy, are we going to leave again?" he asked.

[Starlight]

"It seems so," Angelface said, standing up. She gently nudged Darkfang, trying to get him to wake up. "Wake your brother up for me, please."

[Nightpaw]

Flightkit stood and prodded Breezekit with his paw. "We are gonna leave soon, Breezekit, we need to wake up." He sat and gave his brother a few licks behind the ear. He then looked up and scented the air. It was fresh and nice, and his heart rose. Today started a new chapter, and he would make sure he had a good part in it.

[Starlight]

Breezekit stirred and yawned so hard that tears came to his eyes. "But I'm tired, and my head hurts," he whined. "I just want to sleep."

[Nightpaw]

Flightkit looked back to his brother. "You'll feel better after we get going, I'm sure!" She continued to look around. "I wonder where we are going. Do you think there will be other cats? What do you think it will be like?" He asked no one in particular. He flicked his ear as a bird chirped in a tree, and his stomach rumbled.

[Lightfur]

Sandflower got to her feet, careful not to jostle her slumbering injured son, and made her way over to Angelface and her family. "Angelface," she murmured so as not to disturb other cats, "I was thinking that if Polarbear was feeling better today, I could leave him to Northsky and take Breezekit or Flightkit for you, since poor Darkfang is injured and he really shouldn't be carrying kits for so long in his condition. Would that be all right?"

[Starlight]

"That's okay," Breezekit told Sandflower, sticking his nose in the air and puffing out his chest. "Flightkit and I are warrior-heroes now. We can walk all on our own."

[Nightpaw]

"That's right!" Flightkit strutted around in a circle. "Flighthero doesn't need to be carried! And neither does Breezevictory!"

(I was trying to think of something funny for him, lol)

[Starlight]

Breezekit looked back at his brother, eyes wide. "Breezevictory? I like that!"

Angleface chuckled at her kits, amused. If the way was flat, she would have let them walk until they wore themselves out. However, they were still too small to manage the rocky and sloping terrain on their own. "Thank you, Sandflower. If it isn't too much of a hassle, I think that would be...better." Angelface glanced back at her mate as she finished the sentence, worry briefly flashing across her features. Then she smiled, and bent to nudge Breezekit forward. "You behave, alright? Sandflower needs you to help keep an eye on Polarbear, since he got hurt yesterday. Can you do that?"

Breezekit looked ready to protest, but he lowered his head under his mother's steady gaze. "Yes, Mommy," he said reluctantly, "I can do that."

[Nightpaw]

Feeling left out, Flightkit trotted over to his mom. "What can I do?"

[Starlight]

"You're going to help me watch your father," Angelface said. She glanced around the makeshift camp to see if everyone was ready to start moving out.

[Sleetfoot]

Snowstar had slept a little ways away from the group, keeping watch on the lands behind them. His second eldest son had switched off with him every few hours so both could sleep and both could watch. It had been Snowstar who had ended up with the final watch and he nudged his son awake. The younger's eyes fluttered open and, without words, they walked back to the main group.

Snowstar, still being the senior leader, began to give gentle orders and prompts. "Boneclaw says we can move today and I think it's a good idea that we do so, at least until we can get over these mountains. I want as much territory between us and BloodClan as possible. Those who are fit-Boneclaw, Smallfoot, Morningstar, Nightsky please help make sure the injured are walking well and don't get hurt more. Is everyone awake?"
