Flightkit was about to jump on Darkfang before he remembered that He was hurt. Force of habit, apparently. He meowed into his ear. "Daddy, I think we are leaving soon, Can you get up?"

Morninstar woke up and yawned. Apparently when she was crying, she had somehow managed to fall asleep. She stood up and began to survey the area with her eyes, looking for injured cats she could help. She padded up to Darkfang. "Let me help you," she said to the warrior, leaning down to offer him assistance.

OOC:// Oh, well hi there *still a slow poke* // Tigerpelt jolted out of sleep just as his dream was turning towards a nightmare. He lay there panting slightly for a moment, then pushed himself to his feet. He shook his fur briefly to dispel the feeling of fear, and looked around the peaceful area. Well, peaceful other than the fact that half the cats there were seriously injured. He glanced at his own side, seeing that some-cat had treated his wounds (/powerplaying). The rest of his clan seemed to be waking, so he wandered closer, wondering if they'd be leaving soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Time was passing. Slowly it seemed to those that were contious of every passing second but not so much so to those that went about a regular life. The cats who had once called themselves the HighLanders were doomed to the first fate.
With each pawstep, the cats knew that nothing was going to be the same. They had fled their home lands and after a day or two of traveling through harsh lands, they had made it to the base of a mountain. And still they continued onward. Led by a large white tom and a beautiful gray she-cat, the small band of cats started up the mountain side.
Now they take refuge in a small cave not far from a frozen lake. Little do they know a she-cat and a much younger tom are not far off. But these cats are strangers to them. Friend or foe is still unknown...
~*~
As Snowstar looked around his group of cats, he nodded. Things were going well. As well as they could be, that is. Polarbear and Darkfang were healing up quite nicely, despite their continued journeying. The younger warriors were starting to realize this wasn't a game. And the older warriors were helping to teach them that.
He spoke to the cats that sat around the small cave. "Sandyfur, Boneclaw, Tigerpelt. I would like you three to go on a patrol. Warriors hunt as best you can in this strange territory and Boneclaw can search for herbs."
The shecat nodded. She wasn't really able to travel with the herbs so she had to gather new ones at every stop. It would be nice for the accompaniment of warriors.
Flightkit stumbled to a soft patch of dirt and flopped onto it, half closing his eyes. This wasn't as much of an adventure as he thought it would be. Not that he had though it would be much of one, but the fact that nothing remotely entertaining to him had drained him of energy. Playing with Breezekit was out of the question, because his paws hurt badly. Why Had this happened to them, he wondered again as he watched the warriors and Medicine cat head out to patrol. He wished he was strong like them, to be able to keep going, to seem so supportive. He wished.....
He looked for his mother and father, the latter of which seemed to be doing better. Flightkit had been very afraid that his Dad wouldn't be strong anymore, but he now had faith that he would still be himself after a while. He sat up with a small groan, he had gotten dirt in his mouth, and it tasted.....well, like dirt. He looked to see if there was some water or other thing to help him get the taste out.
Tiggerplett had plodded along determinedly, his paws were doing alright - other than the back right one, which was covered in blood that had dripped down - so he figured he had no right to complain. When Snowstar chose him for the patrol, he looked up, feeling his spirits lift a little. Hunting was normal, good, could be done practically everywhere. He stepped forward to where Boneclaw was, waiting for the other two warriors to join them. Perhaps if he got his blood flowing again, his cramped up shoulder and rump could loosen.
He tasted the air, already feeling the pain fade a little.
Ooc from Hawky: Tiggerplett! XD
Breezekit joined his brother on the ground, in a similarly ungraceful manner. He was exhausted and ached all over. Being carried around was all fine and good, for a little while. But being carried for so long hurt. He tried stretching the sore muscles, but collapsed back to the ground, too tired to bother. Angelface laid down beside her kits, much more deliberately, but it was obvious that she, too, was worn out. She had refused to give her kit to anyone else to carry. The golden cat lifted her eyes to that ever-blue sky, and dared to have hope.
"There are three different herbs growing in this area," Starlight told her apprentice. She had taken Moonpaw to the very edges of their territory--not that MountainClan kept their territory clearly defined, with no other cats in the area to compete with--to gather herbs. Within a half-mile radius of where they now sat were Starlight's favorite sources of chervil, feverfew, and lavender. Not that Moonpaw knew that. She would test the young apprentice's knowledge today. "I want you to find these, by scent, without me telling you what you are looking for. When you find each one, I want you to tell me what it is used for. We'll see how closely you've been paying attention, now." ((A little help: [x] ))
The white tom was padding after his mentor with excitement adouring his huge eyes. He'd only been training for about a moon now but even with such a short time he felt like he had already learned so much from his amazing teacher. She was so smart!
He listed to her instructions clearly and nodded, padding forward. His nose was stuck high in the air as he sniffed around the air, searching for any of the scents he knew from the den. Nothing came to him emideately and then his tail lidted-his sign of excitement. "I Smell something! I smell...it smells like...like cat? Starlight is there an herb with a cat scent?" Without an answer, the little white tom bounded int he direction of the hunting FallenClan cats...
(Er, hi, not grounded anymore. Just letting ya know. Hi)
Flightkit padded back to his mother and brother, glad for their warmth and company. his mouth tasted better, that was good. But his paws and neck....not so good. "Can we just stay here for a few days? " he mumbled sleepily at no one in particular.
Kaity did something in camp. (Idk, not much I can do to help ya there, starry. GO REGAL!!!)
OOC:// well, if they're close enough to smell each other, then... //
As his head was lifted, a light breeze came around to him. The air touched his scent glands, and he froze, tail lifted straight up. Cat! He whipped around, seeing Boneclaw first. "Hey, hey, do you smell that!"
((Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this. College has been...indescribably, actually.))
Starlight was bemused with her apprentice. Cat-scented herbs? Then she caught the scent as well, just a little too late. "Moonpaw!" Starlight hissed quietly, darting after the stray apprentice. "Moonpaw, get back here!" But of course the apprentice couldn't hear, or maybe just chose not to listen. Foolish kit! Foolish, foolish Starlight! The medicine cat berated herself for not giving more direction. But really, how was she supposed to have suspected there were strange cats on their territory? Almost no cat got this far, and the ones that did were almost always lone strays. Starlight smelled at least two separate scents as she chased her apprentice. Fear curled in her chest. Not for herself, of course, but for the fuzzy white cat that bounded ahead of her. It was one of those rare moments Starlight actually regretted being such a small cat. She could barely even gain ground on a newly-made apprentice.
The thoughts passed through her mind in a couple of seconds. Then the breeze shifted, and she almost stumbled in the overwhelming fear that washed through her. Now it would be the strangers that could smell them.
Well, any hope of secrecy had been lost. "Moonpaw!" the medicine cat yowled, "Get back here, you mousebrain!" That had been a little harsh, but she didn't have time to reflect upon her choice of words.
The Medic had been sniffing around a few plants. She'd found a nice batch of Lavender and had been about to pick them when sh heard a very obnoxious yowling from uncomfortably close... she lifted her head, ears pricked and, although she was no fighter, she quickly unsehathed her claws, ready to help her Clanmates should this new cat be hostile.
But she stopped. The little white cat who came bounding toward them looked like nothing more but a kit-maybe a young apprentice- and the female that came after him seemed only worried for the kit's safety. Perhaps there were other loners in this territory as well!
The medic held her tail up to command the warriors not to attack as she sheathed her claws and stepped up to the older cat. She dipped her head. "Hello. I am BoneClaw, Medic of FallenClan."
