Although it does seem pretty good, and I've heard it's better than the second series, it just feels like a cheap imitation of every Warriors-related phenomena. I've only read the first book, but it feels as though they just keep re-using old Warriors plot ideas. -shrug-
Also, it seems that when you introduce a competition/celebration into a series that has never done that in all its history, it looks like the idea pool is drying up. :/
I'll still read it, but I'm quite wary of the outcome.
