Trotting up the high peak of the Tallspire, Wildstar looked down at the Clan camp with unconcealed pride. She had led them to this place, and the new Clan was getting on well. If only Pinestar were here with her to see all this, then everything would feel perfect. Her paws had not travelled this way long enough to leave impressions in the stone, but Wildstar knew that could all change very quickly. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join me beneath the Tallspire," she called the familiar words, and they seemed to echo slightly off the mountains that surrounded certain areas of the camp. 'Here we go,' the black she-cat thought to herself.

Gingerkit's eyes were wide with a mix of emotions, but nervousness ruled out in her mind. Her deep brown eyes stared at the variously colored warriors walking to the Tallspire. Her tail, short compared to others, flicked around nervously and she groomed her thick coat repetitively, probably annoying her nursery neighbors. "Realx!" Gingerkit thought some of the warriors mouthed.

Lightfur turned to the Tallspire, ears pricked forward alertly. She'd been anticipating this, and trotted to sit beneath the tower of rock with a purr resonating in her belly. Today was an auspicious day for not only many members of the Clan, but for the Clan itself, as more cats to defend and work for the Clan obviously boded well. Settling down, she flicked her feathery tail against the ground, raising a slight cloud of dust. That and her steady purr, as well as the twinkle in her eyes, were the clues that the composed deputy was excited for the day's events.
Pearlclaw wriggled from the warrior's den at her leader's call, nearly dashing to the base of the Tallspire. Recalling her dignity about halfway, she slowed slightly, but still walked quickly, her ink-black tail flicking back and forth. Clan Meetings were always important, and either very good or (sometimes) very bad for the Clan. However, even one not usually the type to indulge in conversation, like herself, knew enough that this was going to be one of the former. Choosing a good vantage point, she waited in eagerness for the announcements to come. Her muscles were tense beneath her white, black-splotched pelt, and her golden eyes were trained on the dark form of her leader at the top of the Tallspire.

Sleetfoot's head rose and a smile glimmered in his eyes. He stood slowly and nudged Bluesky towards the base of the tallspire. He trotted over to sit a few pawsteps behind and to the right of his deputy. He glanced behind him towards the nursery where he could hear the excited squeaks of Willowkit and Bramblekit, and the fussing of their mother. He also spotted Gingerkit padding out of the nursery to sit with the rest of the Clan. Pearlclaw, too, came out of the den to sit amongst her Clanmates.

As she stood there looking down at her beloved Clan, Wildstar's body shook involuntarily, before she smelled the tell-tale scent of a pine forest and courage flooded through her bones. Straightening, the MountainClan leader began to speak. "We are here today to give two Clan kits their apprentice names," she started. "By naming apprentices, we show that MountainClan will survive and remain strong in seasons to come. Willowkit, Bramblekit, please step forward."

More warriors, whom Gingerkit didn't know that well, made their way to the Tallspire. Then her gaze drifted to listen to Wildstar announce for Willowkit and Bramblekit. These two she hadn't taken the time to know, either. She rarely got lost in good conversation. 'Who will be their mentors?' Gingerkit thought. 'Who will be my mentor?' She winced with impatience, she was dying to know.

Flowertail nudged her kits to the Tallspire. "You come too," she reminded them. Bramblekit didn't know why, they had never been to a clan meeting /before/. But when Wildstar told the clan what they were gathered for, any cat within 3 tail-lengths could see his eyes widen. He and his sister walked forward as instructed, their mother following behind.

"Pearlclaw, you shall be the mentor of Willowpaw."
(Ooc: I'm leaving this as one sentence to let Pearlclaw complete the next customs of the ceremony.)

Pearlclaw started and stood, heart clenching. A butterfly fluttered in her stomach as she padded forward, looking at Willowkit. She didn't feel wise enough at all to have an apprentice, but she would try her best if it killed her! She arrived at the kit and looked down, trying not to shake.
(OoC: The mentor and apprentice don't touch noses 'til the end, do they? *feels like she's missing something here*)

Ooc: Yep, not 'til the end.
Bic: "Pearlclaw, this will be your first apprentice. Share your patience and wisdom with her. I know that you will train her well."

A small bubble of pride rose through the churning nervousness in Pearlclaw's insides. Bending to touch noses with Willowpaw, she was happy that she had been given this honor and responsibility. Hopefully this whole mentorship thing would go all right, and she wouldn't mess up. But she was sure, from what she knew of the younger cat, that she could not have been given a better apprentice.

A dark brown tomcat padded out of the apprentices den and sat beside his mentor. He noticed Sleetfoot a few pawsteps behind him but didn't acknowledge the white foriner. He watched as his leader called Willowkit forward and gave her mentor duties to Pearlclaw. This warrior had always kept pretty much to herself and Regalpaw new little about her. He figured that would be changing soon, sense they would all be training together a lot. He waited for Wildstar to announce Bramblekit's new mentor.

((Wheeee, lateness. 83))
Bluesky followed Sleetfoot's nudge and settled beside him. She wrapped her tail around his warm body and watched as the rest of the clan gathered. She smiled appreciatively as Pearlclaw was given Willowpaw to mentor. A wise choice, in her opinion. The young warrior would do well with her sparky apprentice. (lol, how could she know that? xD) She looked at the rest of the warriors, wondering who would mentor the other kits sitting there.
((Sorry for any spelling errors, no spell check on this comp. Dx))

Willowpaw shivered with exitement. She was an apprentice now! Looking up at Pearlclaw, she instantly liked her. Stretching her neck to touch noses with her, she suddenly felt that much older.
Bramblekit felt a little uncomfortable about having his sister earn her name before him. He was the older one, after all. However, he was exited too. How he hoped his mentor would be Sleetfoot! The cat had been his idol since he didn't know when.
