Starlight, who was gathering herbs from shelves in the rock den, gave Flowertail a knowing look. "I am afraid that is not my choice to make. If Lightfur does not have a problem with it, I see no reason to separate you again." She pushed some herbs in front of Stonepelt. "Eat up, they are strengthening herbs and thyme for anxiety. Then you can have some of that fresh-kill. Slowly, you don't want a bellyache on top of everything else." The young medicine cat then proceeded to look her patient over carefully. She noticed many long-healed scars and scratches. Stonepelt was very fortunate that none of them had been infected. The worst damage was on his leg; it had been badly hurt at one point. He had probably not been able to hunt for moons before it had healed on its own, and by that time he would have been too scrawny and hungry to hunt much. No wonder the tom was in such poor condition. "Does that leg cause you any pain?"

Stonepelt licked up the poultice and tried not to gag. When she mentioned his leg wound, he looked down at it in surprise. He had learned to live with it in nine moons, so he had almost forgotten it was there.
"Pain?" he asked, considering the question. "Not anymore, but I do walk with a limp, and I can't run as fast anymore. I can put a little weight onto it, but it hurts. Is there anything you can do?" He looked at the young medicine cat carefully.
Flowertail wrapped her tail tightly around Stonepelt's. He had been gone such a very long time. She had to wonder if he was still the same cat.

OoC: The closest medical match to Stonepelt's symptoms is a torn muscle, but that is slightly unrealistic as he probably would have re-torn it trying to hunt, even after it healed, and I don't think it would still be causing him pain. (Yes, I actually researched his symptoms.) However, since when has MountainClan been a realistic roleplay?
IC: Starlight gently put a paw on the injured area. She could feel a bump underneath the skin. "Stonepelt, that is a torn muscle. It hasn't healed properly; that is why it still hurts. There isn't much I can do. . . ." She looked up at him apologetically. "Even if it had healed properly, tearing a muscle once makes it easier to tear again. You could never push that leg too hard."

Flowertail looked sad. He wouldn't ever be the same warrior. "So he'll have a limp forever, Starlight?"
Starlight? The name rang a bell somewhere in the back of his mind. He was silent for a long time until his eyes went wide. Burntfur had named her...
"Starkit?" he said warily. He still wasn't sure if he was right.

"Yes, I'm afraid he will." She was just wondering where Lightfur had gotten to when Stonepelt spoke. The young she-cat cocked her head to one side, confused. She knew she wasn't that small, and Flowertail had clearly said Starlight. "I used to be Starkit. It's Starlight now," she corrected.

OoC: Sorry you guys for the late response, I've been soo messed up this last week. You have no idea. Dx But here 'tis, hope it's not too too lame.
Ohyah, Willow, is Light gonna react to Mask If not then not, juuust curious. *nopressureplzkthx*
BiC: Lightfur followed Starlight and Stonepelt to the den, glancing back once she reached the entrance to make sure that the other cats were dispersing properly, or at least not following them. There was no point in getting wild rumors or panicky gossip spreading through the camp.
When Flowertail came in, Lightfur flicked her bright-gleaming green eyes towards the she-cat to make sure that she wasn't some other cat intruding on the conference. Stonepelt needed to be calmed down right now, the poor tom's breathing was ragged and harsh, his sides rising and falling rapidly. He had obviously been pushing himself to the limit to get home at last, and the leopard encounter couldn't have helped any. She assumed that the incident had occurred quite close, or he would not have still been in such a panicked state or put so much emphasis on the immediate danger.
Lightfur winced at the news about Stonepelt's leg. It was a pity- Stonepelt had always been a capable warrior, and although the deputy was sure that he still was to an extent, with that kind of injury it would be dangerous to reply too much upon him in a fight. Of course, that was even after he'd had some rest and healing- as he was now, she wouldn't have relied on him to swat down a butterfly. However, as a warrior of MountainClan, she did trust his honesty and bravery in the face of even such danger as now loomed immediate.
In response to Flowertail's inquiry and Starlight's response, Lightfur blinked, slightly surprised. The golden she-cat had assumed that it would be obvious that she had selected Flowertail in order that the other she-cat might be present- but of course Stonepelt's mate could not be at her best at a time like this. "Of course you must stay, Flowertail." she reassured the concerned tabby warmly. "Thank you for bringing the food."
The sandy-furred deputy twisted her head sharply to stare at Stonepelt as he tentatively mewed a name. A familiar name, but one that he had no place knowing; except of course by inference; and had no reason for coming out with at this time, unless of course… But that was preposterous. Galaxyfur had found Starkit moons ago, the chances of Stonepelt's having known her before that were minuscule. And Lightfur would have hoped that if they were close enough to MountainClan for a badly injured kit to get there, an experienced warrior like Stonepelt could have done the same! But still…
Well, this was not her place to interrupt anyhow. Lightfur turned her glance on Starlight, then back to Stonepelt. Her piercing green eyes revealed little of the thoughts that buzzed behind them.
Pearlclaw followed her apprentice with worried eyes, the tip of her inky-black tail twitching back and forth steadily. Everyone seemed to have clustered into little group to speak in low voices or simply for comfort: The white-and-black she-cat shook off a momentary pang and trotted over to Fallentree. Surely he would know something about these strange new creatures, and especially about how to fight them!
"Fallentree, do you know about these leopards?" she asked, tilting her head to one side. "Are they hard to fight?" There weren't many organized enemies up here in the mountains: mostly individual threats or accidents caused by the rough terrain claimed the lives of Clan cats.
Dawnkit was instantly distracted from the arrival of Bramblepaw and Willowpaw's daddy. He'd gone with Lightfur and Starlight and Bramblepaw and Willowpaw's mommy into Starlight's den and since she wasn't allowed in there (which was totally not fair, she hadn't even that many herbs and they had only made her a little bit sick) there was nothing new and fun to look at anymore. Bramblepaw wasn't very fun right now either.
Daddy's games were the best, though! Especially when she got to be a warrior, which was almost always because Daddy knew that she was strong and brave enough already to be one! It was fun when she got to play with Coldkit and Rainkit too, of course, but having Daddy to herself was the best. For a moment she paused and thought about a monster as big as two or three Daddies, but then she decided that Daddy was just fooling her. There was nothing in the whole WORLD bigger or stronger than her daddy.
The little she-kit fluffed out her goldenrod-and-white fur hugely, yowling up at the large white form of her father. "Rawr! You will never defeat Dawnstar of MountainClan, leepard!" she cried, and tackled the snowy tom's ankles fiercely. She tried to remember to keep her claws sheathed. Mommy was never happy when Dawnkit forgot. (Which wasn't that often! Okay, maybe it did happen kind of sort of a lot when she was littler, but she hardly almost never forgot anymore!)
Valiant Dawnstar of MountainClan almost tripped over the paws of the great, vicious white leepard, but regained her balance in time to bang her muzzle against his leg. Despite this grievous wound, she continued the struggle, calling out her mighty battle cry!
"Rawr!"

Fallentree looked up when he heard her voice. He smiled and stood slowly so he was at her level. "Such a pretty cat like you has no need to fret of things to come, my dear." And he was right of course. Pearlclaw was a gorgeous cat whose beautiful features where twisted with worry. Fallentree had always been close to the kits. They had all loved his stories of previous fights, of the move from StormClan to MountainClan and so much more. But no kit had ever held his interest as much as young Prearlkit had. He still had trouble believing she was so grown up.
When she asked her question, however, his eyes clouded over. "Yes, I know of them. I went venturing out as a young warrior many, many moons ago and met a few. One I befriended but her pack was vicious. It took most of my strength and all of hers to fight them off. They are not kind by nature. They are cold and know no laws like we."
Sleetfoot stood his ground, bracing himself against the coming attack. As her father, his first instinct when she hit her muzzle was to reach down and comfort her but, as any good leopard does, he stayed in character. "Haha! You and your puny kitties will never beat me and my Clan!" He leapt vertically in the air and twisted his body so he landed behind her.

Regalpaw followed the she-cat back to where they had ben previously stationed. He had opened his mouth to ask her something when she spoke. Catching her drift, his eyes softened and his question changed. "So...do you think there will be any good hunting today? We should go out and see what we can catch."

Stonepelt looked directly at the Medicine Cat, straight into her eyes. There was something familiar. He had noticed that there was a perfect star on her chest, but it was just a spot on Burntfur's kit. He remained confident. "It is you! You're Swiftmask and Burntfur's kit! Yes, I can see it now.. You were named Starkit. For your eyes. Burntfur wanted to name you Nightkit."
Willowpaw smiled at Regalpaw and got up, flicking her tail uncomfortably. Yes, hunting would be an excellent idea. She would have to focus and not think about anything. Also, her father--She had so much trouble accepting that...--would need the food. But no, she couldn't think about that. It's why she was hunting.

Starlight stared back disbelievingly, her head cocked to one side in confusion. How could this warrior, who had been lost even before her arival, know of her birth? Swiftmask and Burntfur. She remembered hearing the names. They had been with Stonepelt in the patrol that disappeared.
Suddenly she was back in the past, back to her very first memories. She had just stumbled upon the camp when Flowertail and smelled MountainClan on her. She had insisted that the little kit was Swiftmask's daughter. That day had been a whirlwind of activity, and Starlight had never considered the idea again until now.
Her doubts chased away, she calmly turned to Lightfur. Only her bright eyes gave away her relief and happiness. "I believe he's right, Lightfur. It makes sense."
((EDIT: An add-on because I'm bored)) After all of this time, she had accepted that she might never know her parents and that MountainClan was family enough for her. But to think MountainClan truly was her family and clan . . . it all just felt so right. Stonepelt had to be right.
((Also, I re-posted to make it look like there was something new and draw pplz attention to the roleplay.))

Out of the corner of his eye, Bramblepaw saw Rosepaw walk out of camp. He let himself be enveloped with curiosity. She shouldn't leave camp on her own... now without letting someone know where she was going. He trotted after her, calling her name softly. "Rosepaw...?" His calls became a little more worried. Something didn't seem right.
Flowertail looked from her astonished mate to the medicine cat. She seemed content, sure of what she was now. However, she didn't think that anyone else would accept it quite so easily as her.

OoC: I can't post right right now, I'm doing homework, but I feel like I really need to point out that Wildstar, at this point, has forbidden anyone from leaving the camp. Why is everyone going hunting? Do they just not care that the leader said to absolutely not leave the camp without the permission of the leader or deputy about three minutes ago?
