Ooc: Wow, I'll try never to get this flooded again. So many posts. @_@
Bic: Glacier shook his head forcefully, trying to bring his mind out of the constant fog it had been in. His instincts were telling him to set aside his grief and worry, but, something kept over-riding it. Then he had it. Iris had bridged the gap between his past, present and future by sending him that message in his dreams. It was more important than ever that it not be ignored. Blinking to clear his mind, the leopard leader turned to his impulsive daughter. "Light, I have things to discuss with my comrades. If you have naught else to do but bandy insults, I suggest you make yourself useful and go hunting." He could almost feel the old Glacier pulsing through his blood again. "Mask, I must speak with you alone. Such matters are not be discussed within earshot of other leopards." He resisted the urge to wink at his companion, resisted letting him know he had heard and understood what had just gone on. "Well, don't just stand around like a couple of petrified mice, go about your business!" ---- Wildstar could feel her consciousness slipping away. Pinestar had a message for her, and it was imperative that she focused only on the StarClan cat, despite the danger her Clan was in.
Ooc: That's all I feel like posting for now. Anyone feel like intervening, speak now, or forever hold your peace!

OoC: I love it when Lighty gets overly dramatic and starts talking seriously. =D And Pearlclaw shows her angry-spazz side here. But that's just how she is, of course. xD It's how she expresses her loooove. (Okay, maybe not. ^^* But she is worried.)
BiC: Lightfur blinked, astonished. Swiftmask and Burntfur! Oh, goodness. This was quite the development! What would Galaxyfur have said? She took a moment to recall the old medicine cat with his dark, silver-spattered fur. He had always believed in Starkit, and would doubtless have been thrilled to have found out that she belonged to them not only in spirit, but with every particle of her being. "It does indeed, Starlight." she responded. "And this is great news, and we must tell the Clan. But not at this moment, for a threat to our Clan takes precedence to any happy thing. You know it is so."
The golden deputy focused her gaze on Stonepelt, trying to bring him back to his original message. "Stonepelt, where exactly did you see these leopards, and how many of them were there? How large were they? What did they do? Did they do any of this?" She indicated his various wounds with her tail. None of them really looked severe enough to have been inflicted by a leopard's claws, but it was best to make sure of this, of course.
She hated to distract Starlight from her revelation, but the Clan took priority, of course. Before she was Starlight's friend, or Stonepelt's ClanMate, or anything else, she was deputy of MountainClan.
Pearlclaw was a bit nonplussed by Fallentree's tale. She knew that the elder tom had been a formidable warrior when he was younger, and if he was so… well, frightened was not precisely the word she wanted, but it would do. If he was so frightened by these creatures, then they were a serious threat indeed. His description of them sent shivers up her spine. Did such evil really exist?
She was about to reply when she noticed all of the apprentices edging towards the camp boundaries. Springing to her feet from her sitting position, she yowled at them at the top of her considerable voice, yellow-green eyes flashing. "What are you all doing?! Regalpaw! Bramblepaw! Rosepaw! Willowpaw! Wildstar ordered that no one was to leave camp! Do you all have foxdung for brains? Get over here, all of you, this instant! This is no time to be acting like sunstruck kits, even you, Willowpaw, Bramblepaw! I don't care if your father just came back from the dead or if you just saw a flying mouse or if your fur is turning bright green, you follow the leader's orders!" Pearlclaw was spitting with anger. The black-splotched white female was never very patient at the best of times, but already stressed by all of the sudden developments, she was infuriated by the short attention spans of the apprentices.
She dashed after Bramblepaw and Rosepaw, who were already outside of the camp borders. "What on earth has gotten into you two?" she hissed angrily, a burst of speed putting her in front of Rosepaw. She spun, facing the two apprentices and blocking their path. "Get back into the camp! Brambleclaw, you think your mother could deal with losing a son to strange, vicious giant cats at a time like this? Do you have a death wish? You saw your father's face! We have no idea what's out there. And you, Rosepaw! Leading a ClanMate into danger! I thought you had more sense than that!" She stepped closer to them, trying to herd them back across the border. "Honestly!"
Dawnkit gasped, eyes widening, as her father performed aerial acrobatics, leaping above her head in a whoosh of white fur. His awe-inspiring feat reinforced her conviction that leepards couldn't be bigger or more powerful than him. No way.
But Dawnstar of MountainClan was not discouraged by the huge, fast, agile white leepard! She spun, skittering only a little and managing not to tumble over, and screeched her battle cry once more as she tried to close her little white kit-teeth around the leepard's massive leg.
Of course, she couldn't bit down, because Mommy would get mad then. And she didn't want to bite Daddy for real, anyways.
But Dawnstar of MountainClan was of course going easy on the leepard because she was honorable, like Wildstar and Lightfur and Daddy and all of the other MountainClan warriors. Yep!
--
Mask started at Glacier's sudden invigoration, and could hardly suppress the grin that threatened to spread across his muzzle. "Of course, Glacier." He trotted into Galcier's den after Crystal, feeling quite glad to be invited once more into the close council of the leader. The senior leopard's troubled soul had been greatly eased by the twinkle in Glacier's eyes and the bite in his tone. If he was taken Light into paw at last, it could only mean well.
Of course, Mask still did not know Crystal's news, and mayhap it would prove troublesome. But with Glacier as his true self at the helm, the masked snow leopard felt confident that there was nothing that the leopard Clan could not do.
Inside the den he dipped his head to Crystal in another greeting and gave her a slight grin as he settled down. No doubt she had heard Glacier's remarks and understood the significance, and Mask was quite sure that she was as happy as he was about it.

With an inner sigh, Starlight pushed the new revelation from her mind for now. Lightfur was right; these leopards were much more important. At the deputy's last question, Starlight shook her head. She was sure none of these wounds were the marks of such large claws, except for possibly that leg. But even that didn't seem right. She waited for Stonepelt's answers anyway. She didn't know anything about leopard-inflicted injuries.

With a jolt, Willowpaw realized that Wildstar had given the order not to leave camp, but she was unfazed, for she had heard her mentor act like this before. Well, mostly unfazed, because it hadn't happened to her. But she nodded her head quickly and said, "Yes, Pearlclaw!" while moving quickly to the fresh-kill pile. She took one look behind her, then preoccupied herself by sharpening her claws on a piece of wood.
Bramblepaw jumped at Pearlclaw's voice. Unlike his sister, he had never seen this before. He stood for a moment as she tried to herd them. He hadn't noticed that he was already out of the camp. What Rosepaw was doing was the only thing on his mind. But he could remember. He remembered a time when he was almost an apprentice, and he, being cocky, thought he could sneak out and catch something, try to be cool. But he had gotten lost in the snowy wasteland and was almost killed by a falcon. And from what he had heard, a leopard was much, much worse. "You're right, Pearlclaw," he said, "I shouldn't have gone." He let himself shudder.
Stonepelt was momentarily stunned when Lightfur bombarded him with questions. In any other circumstance, he would have smiled, but in this case, his face was grim. "The one that chased me--there was only one--saw me at a rocky ledge... just outside our territory. They're about... two, three times my size. None of them gave me any injury, but I saw a patrol of two-three of them once. They didn't see me, but I ran." He shuddered. He knew he was telling them what they had to know, but it was hard for him to talk about it.
-------------------
Stunned, Light looked from Crystal to Mask to Glacier, then put her "princess face" back on and glared at Mask before storming out of the cave, where she promptly collapsed. But she loved her father too much to be angry at him, so, like a good daughter, she went out to hunt, but didn't trust anyone enough to bring with her. They'd follow if they wanted.

OoC: This shall be a Lighty-only reply, since two of the apprentices haven't reacted to Pearlclaw yet and Dawnkit is still biting her father's leg. ^^
BiC: Lightfur drew in her breath sharply. So close! And patrols of them… This was bad. "That's in the direction that you came from?" she confirmed. The deputy was pretty sure that she knew the place that Stonepelt was speaking of. "Do you recommend going out in force to face them, or building up our defenses here in case they come?"
Either way, they would certainly need a patrol to ascertain the exact extent of the threat. It would need to be cats skilled in stealth and experienced… No apprentices, certainly. And they couldn't take too many warriors from camp… Sleetfoot certainly. Possibly Stormwing, since he was surprising level-headed for such a young cat. Shadowchase would be a good choice, and if Falcontail could keep himself calm he was certainly capable… And that would leave the more hot-headed warriors, with the apprentices and Wildstar, to guard the camp and the kits and elder. Lightfur herself, of course, would head the patrol, it would be stupid to risk the leader on such an expedition…
The deputy had hoped that leaving StormClan had put an end to this sort of decision-making, for her and everyone else. She had been an apprentice back then, but she still recalled the anguished expressions on Pinestar's face as clearly as if she had seen then only yesterday.
It seems that she had been wrong.

Stonepelt suddenly returns with a leopard threat, Ashpelt thought. Well, things have certainly been thrown off-balance here in MountainClan. He groaned, looking off towards the entrance. Just how long would they be confined t camp? Ashpelt wasn't sure how long he could take it. Then he saw Pearlclaw chastising the leaving apprentices. Surprised, he jumped up to his feet to help her. His more devious side wondered where they got the nerve to try and run off without him. He was immediately ashamed at the thought. He knew better; he was a warrior!
He saw Willowpaw turning back into camp, and Pearlclaw was taking care of the two who had left camp. Assuming Regalpaw would follow Willowpaw, he instead changed directions to visit the nursery. He stopped to watch Sleetfoot play with Dawnkit, his whiskers twitching in amusement.

Springflower settled down next to Fallentree. She was extra grumpy today, which was her way of expressing worry. "Those flea-bitten giants who dare call themselves cats had better stay off our territory if they have anything more than fur for brains," she grumbled to Fallentree. She watched as Pearlclaw rounded in the apprentices, and then continued her complaints. "In my day, apprentices didn't run off on their own with no explanation to anyone, let alone when the leader gave a command to stay in the camp."

Fallentree kept his eyes forward, though his battered and thinning ear flicked when his den-mate started speaking. Despite her sharp tongue, he knew that she was a kind old bat who cared for her Clan. It wasn't until she mentioned 'apprentices in her day' that he looked down at her. "Really? I seem to remember a certain young Springpaw who enjoyed scampering off with her friends in the middle of the night for hunting contests. His eyes sparkled with remembrance.
He was much older than she and he had retired to the elders den long before Springflower was even born. As a result, he was literally the only cat who dared speak to her int his way. Even Wildstar was cautious of the grouchy elder's feisty tongue.
Fallentree rolled over onto his side to get a better look up at the sky. He was thinking back to Springflower's birth and apprentice ceremony. At such and old age, you had little to do then remanice *Sp?* about 'the old days'.

Springflower took the opportunity to prod him (gently) in the ribs. "You're memory is too keen for a tom of you age," she informed him. "You should be going along with it, trying to recall which decade I'm talking about."

Fallentree dipped his head to the younger cat. “My memory has only grown keener with age young one, as it is the only true company I have.” He looked back up at her, eyes shining. Though his body betrayed the truth, he was still a young, sprightly warrior at heart.
Sleetfoot was rolling around on his back, giving out random cries of “Oh! The pain!” and “It is too much, oh Mighty Dawnstar. We evil leopards surrender to your demands!” Dawnstar stood triumphantly on the stomach of the defeated white leopard. “Allright, young one that’s enough. My bones are getting old. I may be moving in with Fallentree and Springflower soon.” He winked at Ashpelt who, he had noticed, had been watching them play.
Sleetfoot did an odd twisting maneuver, sending the kit on his belly flying high into the air. As she fell back to the ground, he caught her by the scruff of her neck, landing her softly on her paws. “Run along over toy your siblings, Dawnkit.”

Wildstar's eyes flickered once, and then she was in StormClan. The she-cat could feel the tall grass beneath her paws, smell the salty breeze, and even feel the heat of Silverpelt on her whiskers. Watching in silence, Wildstar's navy-blue eyes caught at least a dozen stars form the shape of a brown tabby-tom-- Pinestar. The star-cat blinked, and appeared beside the MountainClan leader, as real as the StormClan camp. "It is good to see you again, Wildstar," he greeted her in a melodious baritone. "You have become a great and wise leader since we last met." The she-cat bowed her head respectfully. "Thanks to you, Pinestar." "Oh nonsense," he replied, twitching his white-tipped tail. "I have helped you in the past, but these many moons have been because of your decisions, my dear." Wildstar smiled. "Well, it's still good to see you." Pinestar nodded distractedly. "Yes, yes, quite. Do you see StormClan, Wildstar?" "Yes. Although it's very outgrown, that's to be expected." "Look closer, to Leopardmask's old den." Blinking twice, the MountainClan leader wondered, not for the first time, if Silverpelt made leaders crazy. It had happened to Ridgestar, the leader before Pinestar, when nocat believed his prophecy. But, unwilling to disobey, Wildstar walked over to the old medicine cat's den. Inside was filled with torn cobwebs and the smell of fox-kits. But there was a light. Inside, at the very back of the cave, something burned white hot. She approached it with caution, her eyes hooded against the light, and her mouth open, catching the faint scent of Starlight. But that didn't make sense. She had never seen the StormClan camp, let alone entered Leopardmask's den. "Keep looking," Pinestar prodded, directly behind the she-cat. Reaching the very back of the cave, the two leaders were confronted by Starlight herself, a real star shining on her chest. "What does this mean?" Wildstar gasped, incredulous. "It means that your medicine cat, Starlight, is the answer to MountainClan's problem, the one that StormClan could not solve. She is the reason for this coming battle, but she will decide the turn of the tide..." "But how is that-?" Pinestar hissed lightly. "Let me finish, Wildstar. You're not using your head. Starlight will be fighting a leopard from the tribe- alone. Although there will be other cats fighting, the fall of one cat will ultimately spell that Clan's destruction. Only one of the two will remain, for only one can remain on the mountain..."
Wildstar's eyes flew open, Pinestar's words still ringing in her ears. 'Only one can remain on the mountain'! -- Glacier settled in the back of his comfortable cave, his eyes alight with a new zeal. The king ignored the rather evident tear-tracks on his fur, feeling that the damage had been done, and would be repaired in due time. Turning to his second-in-command, the aging leopard was all business. "Thank you for coming to see me, Mask. I doubt that I could ever be in such horrible and then terrific shape in the space of a moment, but, Iris has seen to that. "Anyways, I understand that small cats have been sighted near our mating grounds, but I suggest you tell me the whole story before we discuss how to deal with them."
Ooc: LAWLZ. The ending is so dumb, but I didn't really know what else to post for now. Dx UPDATED. :B

OoC:// Tiem to randomly pop Bluesky into the rp. My other charries'll appear once I figure out what's going on. // Unsheathing her claws, the silver-blue she-cat dug into the matted down tufts of grass, slightly hard from the dried mud smeared over it. Reaching the prey she'd buried there earlier in the day, she pushed around the separate pieces, deciding how best to cram them all into her jaws. She licked up the two mouse tails and grabbed hold of the sparrow wing, turning in the direction of camp. She'd have to make another trip to her other cache, there was no way she'd be able to carry any more. Her neck bent from the weight or the prey, mostly to the right due to the sparrow, she set off at a trot. She glanced up through the trees distractedly, finding that the sky was full of reds and oranges. She'd lost track of time, and had been out hunting all day. It had been a nice break from taking care of her kits, but now she was itching to get back to them. She wondered how Sleetfoot had gotten managed their kits, but wasn't too worried. Her thoughts snapped back to her surroundings and she found herself above their camp. She readjusted her grip on the prey in her mouth and began leaping down, before padding into camp.

Wildstar licked her chest fur in agitation, and succeeded only in creating disarray. Snorting, she smoothed it down with one of her paws- she was determined that she would at least look the part of leader-in-control, regardless of how she really felt. The bark-coloured tabby had clearly said more than he was meant to, for his prophecies had never been cut short. It was an indication that Pinestar had allowed his love of MountainClan to cloud his judgment. StarClan would not be pleased at his clear answers, for they believe that to make a cat, one must allow them to discover the answers on their own. "And they're probably right," the black she-cat mumbled to herself. "But this isn't the time or place for that. MountainClan will fall regardless if we do not defend ourselves. Anycat can see that." Padding down the scree hill and sitting underneath the Tallspire far above her head, Wildstar watched in silence as the Clan re-inacted how she felt. Apprentices were antsy, warriors were waiting for their orders, kits were mewling in distress. She exhaled loudly, taking with it her fear. "MountainClan!" Wildstar called. "Assemble, this is a council of war!" If nothing else, MountainClan would not give in until every last warrior had made it to StarClan.

Sleetfoot's white head snapped up at the sound of his leader's voice. He glanced over to where Dawnkit hadgone to sit with her siblings before padding up close to the black she-cat. Making sure the others had room to sit, he took his place close to his leader's side, leaving room for Lightfur to take her place at Wildstar's right. The white warrior dipped his head to the dark cat. "What are we to do, Wildstar?"
