"Regalpaw, we'd better come." Willowpaw padded slowly over to where she usually sat for Clan meetings. Lightfur had mentioned something about patrols. She felt a small glimmer of hope rise in her heart. She might get a break for five minutes. Or she might be a nine-moon-old apprentice who couldn't be trusted. But, looking around the camp now, she had already spotted her plan B. She shuddered, hoping it wasn't necessary.
Bramblepaw followed them hesitantly, taking one more look at Rosepaw. A council of war? This had never happened before. Ever. Now, Bramblepaw had been through some pretty scary stuff. We're talking near-death experiences here. But now he felt more frightened than ever. And he knew why. It was because he had no idea what was going on or what would happen later. The scary part was that nothing would ever be the same again.
Stonepelt averted his eyes for a moment. What would he recommend as far as a plan of attack? Run for your life and don't look back. But considering the situation, saying that wasn't the best idea. He tried to think of an alternative when he heard Wildstar's voice. It had been so long since he participated in a clan meeting, he almost didn't know what to do. Impulsively, Flowertail stood up and gently tugged his tail, beckoning that he follow.
--------------
Light stalked through the rocks, a determined glow in her eyes. She had decided on a plan of action. Number 1: Follow Crystal's scent to the enemy. Number 2: Kill the enemy. Number 3: Earn the respect she deserved. Scratch that, needed. Simple enough. Except Crystal's scent stopped at a pond. She started to wonder what would happen if she got lost. Probably nothing. Not even her father cared for her anymore. Maybe nobody ever had. How had she not noticed this before?

Starlight motioned for Lightfur to go ahead, then followed Stonepelt and Flowertail slowly, in case there was a problem. She was happy as she managed to seem much calmer than she really was. What she really wanted to do was dart for the clearing right away.
Springflower took once glance at the beloved old tom beside her and called out to the nearest warrior, "We'll listen from here. No need to get up and move." Then she glared at Fallentree, daring him to challenge her judgment.

"Thanks to Stonepelt, we have been given decent warning to a coming threat to MountainClan. StarClan has allowed us many moons of peace to re-establish ourselves in this new territory, but now is the time of testing. Our opponents are much bigger than we are, but we are a Clan of resilience and power, and I believe when we will win. StarClan would never give us more than we could handle, but it is only as a Clan that we can defeat them. "StarClan has also told me that the tide will turn depending on the strength of one cat, so it will take all our combined strength to ensure that that one cat can fight well. It is not the ability of one that can save a Clan, but the unity that allows one to fight so fiercely to defend its members. "I call upon any willing to offer suggestions for attack to step forward."

Regalpaw looked up at the sound of his name. Willowpaw had called him to sit beside her as they listened to their leader speak of coming war. He wasn’t entirely sure he would be ready for this. He would fight along side his friends and new Clan, despite the fact that he hadn’t been born there. He would die for his Clan. (cough foreshadow cough)
He looked up as his leader began to speak, listening closely to her words and orders. When she asked for ideas he was about to set a paw forward when he remembered his age and place. He was nothing more then an apprentice. Would any one take him seriously? Still, he had to try. He stood and padded toward the center of the clearing and looked up to his leader, waiting for her to either ask his idea or dismiss him as a kit.

Ooc: Regal, please don't die! TT^TT I don't want you to leave us! At least make a new character afterwards...)
Bic: Wildstar sent a silent prayer to StarClan before focusing on her Clan again. Regalpaw stood beneath the Tallspire, and she felt a flash of doubt prickle her fur. She pushed the feeling away, knowing full well that any suggestion, even from an apprentice, could be the saving grace for MountainClan. There was no time to doubt her cats. She made sure her voice sounded confident, it would not do to show even an ounce of fear. "Thank you, Regalpaw. Every idea is valuable to MountainClan, so I would be honoured if you would share it."

Springflower murmured something about the apprentices of her day, though she looked upon the young tom with something like pride in her expression.
Sitting amongst the gathered cats, Ashpelt kneaded his paws nervously against the rock beneath him. He hoped the apprentice had thought through this. If his idea was anything less than outstanding, Regalpaw would be cast aside as a silly kit by many of the warriors.

The white head and blue eyes snapped up to latch onto the tiny brown form that walked to the center of the clearing. Now, Old Sleety had never been one to critisize a cat for their age (Boneclaw had been proof enough to him that age did not truely matter) and it was he, now, who shot deffensive glairs to all cats who murmered their doubts in the apprentice. He wrapped his tail around Coldkit (who had been struggling to catch a stray leaf, unawear of the danger at paw) and focused on the small tom, trying to will him to speak.
Fallentree shot Springflower a glair and gently put his forepaw over hers, shushing her scolding. He spoke quietly to her, "Yes, well, Young Springflower, back in your day we did not having the looming threat of a Clan of cats twice your size."

((oh I haven't really thought through this... lol oh well I'll just go with some sort of flow )) Regalpaw dipped his head to the black cat above, glad that she had given him a chance to speak. He was about to open his mouth to share his idea with her and the Clan when he caught the sound of a grumbling old elder. He shot her a glance as if asking if he should just go without speaking but she was shushed by Fallentree. Regalpaw smiled to him int hanks. Still, he was now somewhat afraid to speak. His mouth and throat where dry as he looked at the expectant faces around him. He cleared his throat, willing it a voice to come when he spoke. StarClan did not wish to humiliate the young cat today and Regalpaw's voice rang through the clearing, far clearer and more confident then he could have hoped for. "Wildstar has asked for a plan. And I have one. It may be very dangerous and the last thing I want is to put any cat in danger but it is all I can think of and no one else had an idea. What we need to do is study these new large, strangely-pelted cats. But we can't get close without them noticing us and risking an attack. What we need is a rat. "We need a cat strong, willing and brave enough to go to these strange cats and convince them that they wish to join their Clan. It will be hard because none of us look or are built like them but we need to discover their ways from the inside out. Now this cat will not be able to come home to tell us of any new news so they must have a way of being able to get the knowledge to us, either by code or by..." He glanced up to the sky as StarClan twinkled down at him, as if willing him to continue. "Or by StarClan. We can not give up our Leader. We cannot give up our Medecine Cat. The only other cat int his Clan who has a connection with StarClan, the only cat who can talk to them directly is...Sleetfoot." As shock and murmurs spread through the Clan, Regalpaw turned his attention from the black Leader to the potential white knight. "Your past is not a secret to us. You where once a leader of a Clan far away from here. A Clan that StarClan helped watch over. I know you try to keep it on the down-low, but you still share dreams with your ancestors because of your constant desire to know about your father. But you have a family; a mate and kits. I know it would be hard to leave them and I don't think I or even the Clan has the power or desire to ask you to do that. "But that is my idea, Wildstar" the young tom turned back to his leader. "Take it or leave it, that is the only solution I see. Sleetfoot becomes one of the New Ones and shares his knowledge with StarClan who in turn tell Starlight and Wildstar." He glanced again to the sky. "Of course, all parties must be in agreement." The thickly muscled cat fell silent and dipped his head. He stayed in his place however, prepared to take whatever ridicule or yelling at he would get. ((Hey, sorry for kinda throwing everything on Sleety but he was the only one I could figure because he was a Leader, even if he never had the title, he did speak with StarClan. We dont't even have to do this or anything (I think it'd be cool ) but I wanted to get the thread moving again.))

((Well, I guess that decision is up to Sleets and Wildy. In the meantime, there's no need to put the roleplay on pause! Again.))
Starlight listened gravely to the apprentice, but the mention of spying and code had her whiskers twitching. The young medicine cat could recall hazy memories of lazy days before Galaxyfur's den. The elder cat would often mumble to himself and draw signs in the dirt with his claw, giving each sign a name. She still remembered many of the silly characters. If only Galaxyfur were still alive. Surely, then, it would have been her infiltrating these other cats, with Galaxyfur running off every few days to read her scratch marks in whatever place they agreed upon. Who would have thought that one of his crazy ideas could have come in handy one day?
Then the rest of Regalpaw's proposal hit her, and she sobered. Could the apprentice be right? And could such a crazy idea work? Starlight lifted her head to StarClan, but received no answers to her question. Not yet, anyway.

Ooc: I think I smell a little powerplay afoot, but, I'll let it go for now, seeing as we just got the ball rolling and there's no need to stop it. Just consult with any parties involved before making decisions, please. :3
Bic: Wildstar blinked in astonishment. It was a strange concept that had little to no chance of ever working but it would perhaps buy them some time to train their cats for the battle that was sure to come. But could Pinestar have been wrong? The prophecy she had received had spoken only of Starlight, not a whisker about the snow warrior. 'But even StarClan cannot see everything,' she concluded. 'It is the wisest choice to plan physically and spiritually, and our ancestors are perhaps further testing the endurance of MountainClan. All in time...' The silence that hung heavy over every cat was difficult to intrude upon, but the black she-cat did her best. "It is indeed a bold mission you set before us, Regalpaw. But I do not wish to endanger our cats any further unless it is our only course of action, so I must ask if there are any other cats among us with ideas."

((Yes, I feel a need to explain something. Springflower was murmuring, and all the way from the Elder's Den, no less. Only Fallentree should have been able to hear her, and he of all people should recognize she was only saying it to grumble. Did no one catch the pride in her eyes part?
...Sorry, when it's not in my character's nature to get defensive, I end up doing it for them. ^^))
Though Regalpaw had finished his proposal and been received with respect, Ashpelt still kneaded the earth below him. For he knew someone would have to say it. Must it be him? Ashpelt glanced at the gathered cats, took a deep breath, and stepped forward. "Wildstar, if I may...?"

Ooc: Go ahead, Starlight, you don't need to wait for Wildstar's response. All she really has to say is "Yes?"

((Oh. Right. That makes sense. xD ))
When he had permission, Ashpelt turned so that he was addressing both his leader and his fellow cats. "Whatever course of action we decide to take, there is one point that needs to be discussed. We need a safe place to hide our kits and elders, and we need to prepare for the possibility of defeat. We need a plan to make sure that, should these other cats overpower us, we will have enough warriors left to care for the remainders of our clan."
As the tom finished his somber pronouncement, he looked across the gathering of cats at the medicine cat. "Also, Starlight, I realize these things cannot be rushed or done spontaneously, but if you have a future apprentice in mind, now would be a good time to begin training the cat. You may need all the help you can get for this battle."
The young she-cat nodded her recognition of Ashpelt's advice. Tonight she would confer with Starclan.
((ATTENTION: Now accepting medicine cat apprentice applications.))
The warrior dipped his head as he waited for a response. He remembered the flight from StormClan, so many, many moons ago. The memories were blurry, with only a few scenes still clear in his mind. But the panic was still sharp in his mind. The overwhelming panic. He prayed to StarClan that history would not repeat itself.

Sleetfoot barely had time to process what Regalpaw ahd said. His eyes widened when they met the younger tom's and his mind raced with the possabilities. He looked down to the kits running around his paws. Could he leave them? Then to his mate-could she saise them on her own? But if this was the plan to be exicuted then... did he have a choise? He was a warrior of MountainClan and he would gladly give his life to protect his clanmates. He looked up to Wildstar but before he could step forward, Ashpelt spoke. Sleetfoot cocked his head when Ashpelt began to speak. He admired this dark warrior and felt very at ease when around him and he always listened to his oppinions. And now he was very curious to hear what he had to say. A plan? Oh yea, those where the things that where thought up before total distaster... Memories flashed before his eyes. Memories of his family, his Clan...his original Clan... Then it hit him! With a yowel he jumped up. Not even bothereing to wait his turn to speak he shouted out a single name that hadn't been said oftain in the MountainClan camp. "Boneclaw!" His mind began to race as he thought of his tiny sister (brobably not so tiny now) and the forest he came from. He began to speak rapidly, mostly to himself but aloud. "I would have known if my sister had been killed. MoonClan has told me nothing of her passing which means she must be alive! Wildstar, " he spoke now to his leader "I can take a patrol back to the HighLands and find my sister and any remaining cats. I can ask for help fromt hem and if they don't help us fight I know that they will at least offer us a shelter to recoup or bring out elders." He dipped his head to Ashpelt, suddenly realizing he had cut off his fellow Warrior." Ooc/Wildstar Interference: Yo, Sleet, I was totally listening to Phil Collin's "Son of Man" while reading your post and was just like "it fits so amazingly well with his random proclamation, I love it!!" It's inspiring, really. End interference.

Regal listened to Ashpelt and glanced over to one of the little kits who tumbled around in the back. He smiled lightly. He had rather taken a liking to the tiny fur-ball. Regalpaw's attention turned back to the clearing however, when Sleetfoot stumbed forward. The name rang the slightest bell in his memory... Bone...claw? A small brown fce entered his mind but he shook it awway. He would ask Sleetfoot about her later.
Sleetfoots idea seamed reasionable. If his sister was alive, no doubt she would help her brother. It made sense. He, however, had nothing to say on the subject however and kept silent.
((NEW KITTY ALERT))
The small milky kit rolled around with a soft glint in his eye as he chased a leaf, butt over head. It really was an inefective method of tackeling, but he was still wokring on figuring that out. He stood and blinked, his large, glossy eyes took in the situation and he stopped playing, the leaf forgotten. At almos the exact moment, as if nudged by StarClan, he tuned into what Ashpelt was saying. His large eyes got even larger, if that was possible, when the possability of a Medecine Cat Apprentice popped up. He ran to Starlight's side, skidding to a halt (and bouncing into her paws). the milky white tom looked up at her, eyes pleading-begging for the possition but she hardly even seamed to notice.
Slightly depressed, he dipped his head and curled into a ball at her paws, waiting for the big kitties to get done talking.
